Affinia Healthcare recently received high honors and recognition from two different agencies, the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services (DHSS) and the United Way of Greater St. Louis. 

The Affinia Healthcare WIC program earned the highest Missouri Breastfeeding Peer Counseling funding award in St. Louis and the third-highest funding in the state. Affinia Healthcare has been designated as a Breastfeeding Friendly WIC Clinic from the Missouri DHSS.  

“Receiving the Breastfeeding Friendly Award is an honor that recognizes Affinia Healthcare’s commitment to supporting WIC families throughout their breastfeeding journey,” said Affinia Healthcare Assistant Vice President, Community Health Programs Kristen Gore. 

This recognition and additional funding allow the organization to continue providing extensive education on the importance of breastfeeding.  

“By providing education, encouragement, and personalized support, we help families make informed feeding decisions while improving the health and well-being of both mothers and babies,” Gore added. “This award also reflects the dedication of our staff who work every day to support the families we serve.”

United Way Member Agency Network 

In addition to receiving top honors for the WIC program, Affinia Healthcare is proud to be part of the United Way Member Agency Network for the 2027-2029 Safety Net cohort.  

Being part of the Safety Net demonstrates the impactful work the organization does regularly to strengthen the community and support those in need of immediate healthcare assistance. In addition to strengthening the community, being part of this cohort allows additional funding to assist with stabilization efforts for staffing, infrastructure, and program delivery.
