EleVATE Pregnancy Program
As a participant in the Affinia Healthcare EleVATE (Elevating Voices, Addressing Depression, Toxic Stress and Equity) Program, you have the opportunity to receive your prenatal care in a group setting that celebrates and empowers you to be your healthiest, and to have a healthy and fulfilling experience of pregnancy to best care for and nurture your growing baby. The program is a model of prenatal care that provides prenatal care to women in groups – in a supportive environment.
There are three essential components to this approach:
- Assessment – time just for you and the provider
- Education – on topics important to you
- Support – a stable group allows for building trust and support among each other
These are some of the topics we cover:
- Nutrition
- Exercise/relaxation
- Infant care and feeding
- Postpartum issues
- Communication and self-esteem
- Comfort measures
- Sexuality
- Abuse issues
- Parenting
If you choose to participate in the program, you will have your initial prenatal exam in private with your health care provider. You are then invited to join a group of 8 to 12 other pregnant women to meet regularly for 10 visits at the following Affinia Healthcare locations: South Broadway, Lemp, Biddle & N. Florissant.
Whether or not this is your first child, pregnancy is a time of transition and a lot of changes. We would like to help you have a positive, healing and healthy experience of nurturing and caring for yourself and your baby. Please join us!
