Prenatal and Pediatric Care Support
Overview
Affinia Healthcare provides additional support to women and children through the Maternal/Child care services. In collaboration with our board certified or board eligible OB/GYNs and family medicine physicians, women’s health nurse practitioners and certified nurse-midwives, our Maternal/Child services provide another layer of support for our prenatal patients.
Prenatal Intake
Let Affinia Healthcare’s Maternal Child Department assist you with your pregnancy needs.
At Prenatal Intake, patients:
*meet a Community Health Nurse
*apply for Medicaid (if eligible)
*receive an ultrasound
*apply for WIC services
EleVATE
As a participant in the Affinia Healthcare EleVATE (Elevating Voices, Addressing Depression, Toxic Stress and Equity) Program, you will receive your prenatal care in a group setting that celebrates and empowers you to be your healthiest — for you and your growing baby. The program is a model of group prenatal care in a supportive environment.
There are three essential components to this approach:
- Assessment – time just for you and the provider
- Education – on topics important to you
- Support – a stable group allows for building trust and support among each other
Nurse Case Managers
Pregnant moms meet nurse case managers at the prenatal intake appointment. Patients are welcome to share concerns and needs with our nurses at this appointment.
Our nurses are available to provide referral information and supportive solutions for patients’ and families’ needs throughout the pregnancy and initial postpartum period.
Doulas
Affinia Healthcare doulas are specifically trained in labor and childbirth support. Our professional doulas work alongside your healthcare provider and nursing staff to help ensure your emotional and physical needs are being met before, during and after pregnancy.
Other services
Pack n’ Play Referral Program – Thanks to our partnership with Infant Loss Resources, Affinia Healthcare’s Maternal & Child Health department can provide pack ‘n’ play sleep furniture to help reduce the chances of him or her having a sleep-related death.
Diaper Giveaways – Thanks to our partnership with St. Louis Area Diaper Bank the Maternal Child Department provides free diapers to Affinia Healthcare patients (once a month) at our regular diaper distributions.
Our Pediatric Care provides services to patients from newborns through 18 years of age. Our pediatricians are experienced, highly trained and board certified. *New patients and walk-ins are welcome!
