Congratulations Tyiesha Givans, December Nurse of the Month!

Nurse Givans is a Hypertension Clinic Nurse who works with Dr. Jordyn Norde in the Hypertension clinics at our Lemp and Biddle locations. She has been a strong force behind educating our hypertension patients and connecting them to resources to decrease social determinants of health. Because of Tyiesha’s contributions, she and her team increased the number of patients who have decreased and/or controlled their blood pressures, reaching our initial goal of 55% of patients having decreased and controlled blood pressures. 

Nurse Givans has worked with Affinia Healthcare for two years of her 10-year nursing career. She says healthcare has been a passion of hers since childhood.  

“I enjoy making a difference and authentically love my people. I enjoy aiding with health literacy and helping make a significant impact on health disparity and inequality through education. Everyone deserves equal access to health and healthcare.” 

Nurse Givans received her Nursing degree from the University of Missouri-St. Louis and is currently working on her Master’s degree in Integrative Health Science and Complementary and Alternative Medicine. She is on track to earn her master’s degree in 2024.
